If you’re curious about international relations, ocean policy or just looking for friendly support navigating university life, Robyn Ahn is the Academic Don you’ll want to know. A Master of Global Affairs student at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, Robyn offers Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ students guidance on coursework, career development, and the broader experience of student residence life.

This summer, Robyn brought her expertise into the real world through a co-op placement with Fisheries and Oceans Canada in Ottawa. Working with the International Oceans Policy team, she dived into the complexities of global ocean governance. Her work supported Canada’s contributions to the Our Oceans Conference, a major international forum on ocean conservation and sustainability. She also attended the Canada-ASEAN Security Symposium, where she gained insights into maritime security, supply chain resilience, and the strategic importance of the Indo-Pacific region.

“It was a great opportunity to learn how ocean policy intersects with international affairs and economic priorities,” Robyn said. That cross-disciplinary perspective—Ģ¹½´«Ã½ing policy, economics, and diplomacy—is exactly what she brings to her role supporting Trinity students.

Beyond the policy briefs and international conferences, Robyn has been exploring Ottawa as a new city, building community, and finding her favorite bingsu spot. But as the summer winds down, she’s eagerly looking forward to returning to Toronto for the fall. She’s particularly excited about residing in Trinity’s new Lawson Centre for Sustainability—a fitting home for someone whose work bridges international policy and environmental stewardship.
