Trinity Reads is a new campus-wide initiative that encourages students, staff, faculty and alumni to read outside the classroom and engage with contemporary Canadian stories as a catalyst for conversation and Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ion. Modelled after CBC’s highly successful program, Trinity Reads will highlight five shortlisted titles that speak to current conversations about sustainability – each represented by a Trinity student champion – leading to a public debate, campus-wide vote and author visit to celebrate the winning Trinity Reads title.
This year’s campaign asks readers to engage with titles that help us reimagine our relationship to the land:
Throughout the year, the Trinity community will also have opportunities to attend reading parties, book talks, film screenings and community workshops that expand on themes from the shortlisted books. The campaign kicks off with a Reading Party on Monday, September 22 at 6 pm in the Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ Chapel, co-hosted with .
For the Reading Party, Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ and U of T students, and Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ staff, faculty and alumni who register for a ticket and attend the event will receive a choice of the shortlisted titles at the door from Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ (while supplies last). The Reading Party will feature silent reading time, opportunities for social Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ion and a community book swap, plus all new Trinity Reads swag. You can .
